I would also worry about more litter being kicked out with bigger cats since the entrance is wider. I do like the design of the 4, but either way there's going to be a giant spaceship litter box in your home so it looks awkward either way. Not worth a $200 upgrade IMO. This is just my two cents after owning it for 24 hours.

The pinch wiring feeds to the dfi board so I replaced the dfi board and pinch alarm went away. I also had the red,yellow light. It's my fault for adding too much litter and not resetting the weight sensor. LR3 Pinch Sensor Fault Hello, I'm trying to get my LR3 to bypass the pinch sensor as it seems like a flawed design (already replaced that part of the box once before). I took the bottom part apart and cut the sensor wires and spliced them together and the robot still thinks there is a pinch fault.
