Old Lichess was harder I think, my rating in new Lichess is higher than old Lichess (now ~2000). Haven't used chesstempo so I can't comment. At low Elo, the difference tends to be very large. Some students of mine are around 1000 on Lichess and 300-400 on chessdotcom. The difference gets progressively smaller as the Elo increases, in my experience at around 1600-1700 the Elo are equivalent across sites. What site is your 1400-1500 rating? If it's lichess (~1100 chess.com), you probably want to start with some beginner courses. Seirewan's Winning Chess series is available on chessable and great at that level. 1001 Chess Exercises for Beginners is a good tactics workbook. If you're 1400-1500 chess.com, the woodpecker method is excellent.

I like chess.com but their server is crap. Lichess has a better, cleaner more user friendly layout and I’ve never had any issues with their servers, so for this reason I use lichess. As far as the difference in numerical ranking goes: just pay attention to percentile, it gives you a better idea of where you’re at.
